In recent years, significant progress has been made in the fields of disaster risk science and compound events. This session invites contributions that showcase state-of-the-art advances in knowledge and practices in both areas or the intersection of these fields. Submissions are encouraged to explore the understanding of physical processes, including impacts from spatially and temporally compounding events that occur simultaneously or sequentially. Additionally, we welcome submissions that delve into underlying exposures and vulnerabilities as well as socio-economic-political factors contributing to risk (including compound vulnerabilities).

The session provides a platform for researchers from diverse backgrounds to share their latest developments, methodologies, and applications in disaster risk and climate science. By fostering cross-disciplinary exchanges, the session aims to deepen comprehension of the complexities within and among these crucial aspects. Contributions from all disciplines are welcome to contribute to the ever-evolving landscape of global environmental challenges.
